Chubb Fire Builds on Success with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust




Chubb Fire announced today its selection by the Leeds Teaching Hospital's NHS Trust  to supply more than 200 single point smoke detectors for its residential premises.  The NHS Trust is the largest of its kind in the UK and home to the biggest teaching hospital in Europe.  Chubb Fire, a leading fire specialist in the UK, is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

Currently Chubb provides service and maintenance of the Trust's extinguishers, hose reels, sprinklers, gas suppression systems, fire hydrants, and dry and wet risers at all eight of the Trust's sites.  Chubb, also maintains existing third-party systems as required and looks after the specialist fire fighting technology on the Trust’s helicopter landing pad.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust provides high quality acute hospital services for the population of Leeds and the surrounding area and acts as a regional centre for a number of specialist services such as cancer and cardiac surgery. In total it employs over 14,000 staff, treating around a million patients a year with a budget of £750 million.
