MIAMI, Americas’ Fire & Security Expo, Booth # 1001, July 25, 2007 — Lenel Systems International will showcase its latest generation integrated security management platform including the recently-released OnGuard 2006 technology update (version 5.12.110) at this week’s Americas’ Fire & Security Expo.  Lenel, a global leader in software and integrated systems for the commercial security market, is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. The new OnGuard 2006 technology update added significant new features such as; enhanced access control functionality, a Lenel-branded line of IP cameras, new access hardware offerings, video surveillance enhancements, a suite of virtually calibration-free intelligent video solutions, and expanded third party product support.

In addition to its technology displays, Lenel will also participate in the Smart Card Alliance Latin America (SCALA) Educational Institute (E.I.) certification training course on the use of smart cards for physical access control. Diego Cota, Lenel’s Director of Sales for Mexico, will conduct two of the course’s nine modules. On Wednesday, July 25, he will speak on “Considerations of Implementing Smart Cards in Access Control Applications.”

On Thursday, July 26, his presentation will be on “Applying Biometrics and Smart Cards for Secure Credentialing.”  Lenel is a member of the Smart Card Alliance, a not-for-profit, multi-industry association working to stimulate the understanding, adoption, use and widespread application of smart card technology. The SCALA course targets access control providers, end users and systems integrators in the Latin American market, and will be presented in Spanish.
