Onity’s CodePro Electronic Locking System Provides Advanced Access Control Solution for Commercial Facilities

ATLANTA, GA – January 19, 2009 – Onity announced today that CodePro, the revolutionary new PIN code-based electronic locking system, is now available to the North American commercial market. CodePro is designed for the special access control and security needs of commercial facilities, including corporate offices, retail and multi-use properties. Onity, one of the world’s leading providers of electronic locking solutions, is part of UTC Fire & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX).

CodePro was specially developed by Onity, using feedback from end-users in the facility management and security sectors. The system allows property managers and/or owners to instantly and remotely provide access to individual properties for specific periods of time, without the need for a key or keycard. This eliminates the possibility of duplicated or lost keys, increasing both security and efficiency. The code is software generated, and can be easily sent to users through remote media, such as text messaging or email. Those requiring temporary access to a property, such as housekeeping and maintenance staff can also be given individual remote access codes with separate time restraints, making it easy to manage and track all access to individual doors.

The CodePro locking system combines Onity’s proven, reliable electronic locking technology with a unique two-piece modular design and a keypad to grant access to designated users. The locking mechanism is operated with a 7-digit software-generated PIN code that can be changed by the user with his/her personalized code.

Some features of the CodePro lock include a robust all-weather design, mechanical key override, and battery-operated. The software is currently available in two versions, including CodePro Lite, for 10 doors or less and CodePro Enterprise, which is designed to handle up to 16,000 doors. Both versions are owned and managed by the client for maximum operational control.

CodePro is an all-encompassing property access system, combining PIN code access software with a unique two-piece modular electronic lock for guest doors or wall unit modules for common area doors. The software that is the basis for the CodePro system is backed by more than 10 years of experience by Onity.
